World We Imagine
After I graduate, I will commission as a U.S. Army officer, a role that will allow me to pursue my passion for service and leadership while making a real impact in the world. As an officer, I will have the responsibility to not only lead but to embody the values of equality, peace, and justice that are essential for building a better future for all.
In the Army, I will work with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures, fostering cooperation and understanding across borders. My actions will contribute to global efforts to maintain peace, provide humanitarian aid, and ensure the security of nations. While my role will focus on leadership and strategy, it will also be about upholding the shared human values that unite us all, creating a safer and more connected world.
For me, commissioning as an officer is not just about serving in the military—it’s about taking on the responsibility of global citizenship and giving back to the country and fallen heroes that has taken care of me. It’s about working towards a future where everyone has the opportunity to live in peace and equality, and where we can all contribute to a "world we dare to imagine together."
Damien, first, thank you for being willing to serve in the military during such uncertain times. It sounds like you are very familiar with what it will take to lead a team of soldiers. It could be beneficial to be a global citizen and a well-rounded leader to learn as much about the culture and history of the place you serve. I have found in traveling that each place I visit has layers of depth and complexity. The more you can grasp and understand that, the more beneficial it will be for you in the long term.
ReplyDeleteDamien, I have the utmost respect for individuals such as yourself who serve the military in any capacity, all in the name of fighting and advocating for equality, peace, justice and so much more. I am interested to hear more about what it is you would do as an incoming U.S. Army Officer, that would otherwise be different and build on those who have led before you for the greater good.
ReplyDeleteDamien, thank you for being so willing to put aside your time and effort to focus on contributing to a bigger cause. I have so much respect for people that are willing to lay their life on the line for our country. Military members deserve more credit for helping our country live somewhat in peace and unity.
ReplyDeleteDamien, I'd like to say thank you for being willing to serve the military, your dedication to global peace and justice is truly admirable! I'm excited to see how your unique perspective and skills will contribute to the Army and the world. Wishing you all the best in your future career.
